Phlebectomy

What is a Phlebectomy?

Phlebectomy, also known as microphlebectomy or ambulatory phlebectomy, is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat large symptomatic varicose veins. Phlebectomy may be used to treat superficial veins that cannot be treated with the laser vein ablation. During a phlebectomy, a small instrument is used to remove parts of the vein through tiny incisions made in superficial areas of the skin along the vein.
